We had a great time watching the Oscars, like everyone else – and loved so many of the looks! The Oscars is one of the best times to see fashion trends for the year, and this also applies to bridal fashion! We planned to pick only 3 of our favorite looks for today’s blog post, but we (Etinosa and Feyisola) couldn’t narrow the list any lower than 6 🙂 Enjoy the images below, and commentary on how we feel wedding guests, bridal train members or even a bride can incorporate these for 2013 weddings!
Zoe Saldana’s off white dress with impeccable detailing (which was a lot, but not overdone) and hints of darker shades beneath would be the perfect reception dress for the bride who has worn all white at the wedding and wants to let her hair down and show her playful, fun, but still very chic side at the reception.
The red and orange tones of Olivia Munn’s Marchesa dress play off each other nicely and bring a daring color pop to any event. The bottom of the dress had a lot of volume which could be toned down to let the top sparkle or work for a little extra pizzazz at an event.
Kerry Washington’s Miu Miu dress with coral details and a simple, flowing design would be great as a bridesmaids dress for an evening wedding; it accentuates her features without giving away too much, and leaves her looking gorgeous with enough room for the bride to still be the star of the show.
Honorable mention:Â Naomie Harris’ gold eco-friendly dress designed by Vivienne Westwood is both understated yet very chic and classic. With a toned-down slit and hat, this would be a great attendee dress for anyone looking to grab some attention in an event.
Jeremy Renner’s Givenchy suit: No bridemaid would be able to stop staring at the groomsman decked out in a suit like Jeremy’s. A single breasted suit with quirky details on the lapels and bow-tie give an extra bit of class to an already classic look.
Anne Hathaway’s STUNNING Tiffany & Co Necklace stole the show as she accepted her award last night! It was just so lovely, and definitely an amazing inspiration piece for the bride who loves bling!
And last, but absolutely not least…..our FAVORITE look of the evening…….
Jennifer Lawrence’s all cream Dior Haute Couture gown is SUCH a bridal dream! We love the pulled back hair and toned down jewelry which really just let the beauty of the dress take center stage. We couldn’t stop staring at it, and this is a great inspiration piece for the bride who wants to be both sexy, and a princess at her wedding.
